In a significant development, Bangladesh have announced a robust fifteen-member squad for the second Test of the ongoing series against Sri Lanka. 

While Najmul Hossain Shanto will continue to lead the team, the comeback of veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan after a one-year hiatus. 

The legendary spin-bowling all-rounder replaces promising batter Towhid Hridoy in the squad. Two months ago, Shakib complained of some discomfort in his eyes, following which he could participate only in the BPL, apart from some games in the Dhaka Premier Division League.

Pacer Musfik Hasan will miss the game due to an injury, and Hasan Mahmud will replace him in the squad. 

Besides Shanto, Zakir Hasan, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Litton Das and Mominul Haque will spearhead the Tigers' batting unit, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam will lead the spin attack alongside Shakib Al Hasan. 

Left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam, who was impressive in the ODI leg, will lead the hosts' pace battery alongside Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana.
