Adelaide Strikers defeated Bangladesh A by seven wickets in an entertaining Top End 2025 contest, powered by a match-winning century from Mackenzie Harvey. The left-handed opener played one of his finest T20 knocks, finishing unbeaten on 102 off just 53 balls to guide Strikers to victory with 11 balls to spare as Bangladesh A lost all their hopes for the semi-finals.

Strikers Wind Down Chase With Harvey Firepower

Asked to chase 176, Strikers got off to a steady start as Mackenzie Harvey and Jake Winter put on a solid 123-run opening stand. While Winter anchored with 35 off 35 balls, Harvey was the aggressor, dispatching the bowlers to all parts of the ground. His innings included 14 fours and a six, and he scored at a strike rate of 192.45.

Once Winter departed in the 13th over, caught by Hassan off Chowdhury, Harvey ensured the chase stayed on track. Despite losing Harry Nielsen (3) and Tom O’Connell (6) cheaply, Harvey found support in Harry Manenti, who struck a quick-fire 25 off 14 balls with two sixes. Together, they sealed the win in the 19th over at 179/3.

Bangladesh A's Total Wasn't Enough To Keep Strikers Out

Earlier, Bangladesh A posted 175/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Jishan Alam provided the foundation with a well-constructed 50 off 38 deliveries, while Afif Hossain played a brilliant cameo, smashing 49 off just 23 balls at a strike rate of over 213.

Yasir Ali chipped in with a valuable 25 off 15 balls, giving Bangladesh A a strong finish. Strikers’ bowlers, however, struggled for control, with Hanno Jacobs being the standout, taking 3/33 in his four overs.

In reply, Bangladesh-A’s bowlers could not find early breakthroughs. Saif Hassan was the only bowler to make an impact, claiming 2/28 in his three overs. Mrittunjoy Chowdhury dismissed Winter, but the rest of the attack was taken apart by Harvey’s calculated aggression.

The result highlighted the gulf in finishing power between the two sides. Bangladesh A relied heavily on short cameos to reach a competitive total, but Harvey’s brilliance ensured the Strikers crossed the line comfortably.
