Hong Kong, who are all set to make their fifth appearance in the Asia Cup in the 2025 edition, announced their 20-member squad for the tournament on Friday. Hong Kong, who are set to begin their journey on September 9 against Afghanistan, will be led by captain Yasim Murtaza as they combine youth and experience in their squad.
Notably, it will be Yasim's first major assignment as a skipper as he leads the team in a major tournament. Other members who promise excitement as well as youth are also ready to set the stage for their appearance after 2022.

Blending seasoned veterans with exciting new talent, Hong Kong's squad features notable players like Anshuman Rath, Nizakat Khan, Babar Hayat, Aizaz Khan, Ehsan Khan, Kinchit Shah, Ayush Shukla, and Haroon Arshad. A standout figure is Babar Hayat, who shares the distinction of being one of only two batters to have scored a century in the Asia Cup T20, alongside Virat Kohli.

Head coach Kaushal Silva has emphasised the competitive mentality driving the team, stating, "Each player has to earn their spot. We are not here to participate; we are here to compete, win games, and enjoy the experience."
In their final preparations for the tournament, Hong Kong will hold a training camp in the UAE beginning August 24. Under Silva's leadership, the squad will undergo intensive training and play competitive practice matches to finalise combinations and build unity.
Drawn into Group B, Hong Kong's campaign will see them take on Afghanistan on September 9 and Bangladesh on September 11, with both matches in Abu Dhabi, before their final group stage fixture against Sri Lanka on September 15 in Dubai.
