In the realm of Indian cricket, Tilak Varma's star has been rising steadily, gaining immense attention after his remarkable fifty in the second T20I against the West Indies. Throughout the five-match T20 series in the Caribbean, Varma has been a standout performer for India, showcasing his batting prowess. Despite his impressive contributions, India finds itself trailing 0-2 against the formidable West Indies side.

During the second T20 match, Varma displayed sheer brilliance, smashing 51 runs off 41 balls, propelling India to a competitive total of 152 for seven. However, the West Indies responded with equal ferocity, overpowering India in just 18.5 overs, led by Nicholas Pooran's blistering 67 off 40 balls.

Behind the emergence of this talented cricketer lies a heartwarming tale of dedication. It all began when Bayash, Varma's coach, spotted his talent at a tender age. Determined to nurture this talent, Bayash reached out to Varma's father, even in the face of financial challenges, to support his son's cricketing dreams.

An incident stands out as a milestone in Tilak Varma's cricketing journey - the day he met the Sachin Tendulkar. Sharing the delightful story, Coach Bayash recounted how his ward had the opportunity to meet the batting maestro in Hyderabad. It turned out that Sachin Tendulkar had already taken notice of Tilak's talents and was well aware of his coach.

“Sachin sir likes him very much. I will tell you another instance. Tilak told him that my teacher is a very big fan of yours. So, Sachin sir replied, ‘I know everything about you and your coach’. Last year, when Sachin sir came to Hyderabad, I got to meet him and that was a big, big moment for me. I told him, ‘20 years se apse milne ki khawaish thi. Upar wala meri khawaish puri kardiye’. He then hugged me and told me that I have prepared a very good player in Tilak and should continue to do the same. Main jitna khush tha, use zyada Tilak khush tha ki maine sir ko Sachin Sir se milwa diya.”

Tilak told Sachin that his Coach Bayash, was a fan of the batting maestro. To this, Sachin responded with a smile, acknowledging his awareness of both Tilak and his coach. The encounter was a dream come true for Bayash, who had long yearned to meet his cricketing idol for over two decades. The moment finally arrived when Sachin Sir graced Hyderabad, and Bayash was blessed with the opportunity to meet him in person.

Currently making his debut in the T20I, the young prodigy has already left a lasting impression with a fearless innings in the opening match against the West Indies. He blazed his way to a quickfire 39 runs off just 22 balls.
