Here's how the ADKR vs DV match panned out in Abu Dhabi:

ADKR vs DV Highlights: Mohammad Amir draws first blood

The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders batted first, with Phil Salt and Mayers coming out to open. However, Mohammad Amir cut short their momentum to trap Mayers. The batter slashed hard a short delivery but holed out to Nathan Sowter at backward point. Lockie Ferguson knocked over Joe Clarke as ADKR were reduced to 19/2 in the powerplay.

ADKR vs DV Highlights: Phil Salt-Alishan knits crucial partnership

From 39/3, Phil Salt and Alishan Sharafu stitched an 86-run partnership. Salt unlocked his beast mode to hammer 71 runs off just 49 deliveries, including five boundaries and four sixes. Alishan also contributed with 46 off 34 balls but got retired hurt. Andre Russell then stepped up to add the much-needed finishing touch with 30 off 14 balls. His blazing knock steered the Knight Riders to a competitive total of 166 runs in the first inning.

ADKR vs DV Highlights: Fakhar Zaman humbled by Russell

Fakhar Zaman and Alex Hales came out to open for Desert Vipers. Zaman looked strong with 23 off 15 balls, but in a tense battle, Andre Russell had a last laugh. The batter miscued a scoop shot and nicked it to wicket-keeper Phil Salt, resulting in a maiden breakthrough for the Knight Riders. Sunil Narine also scalped a wicket to remove Alex Hales as the Vipers were reduced to 56/2.
