South African star Heinrich Klaasen lit up the IPL 2025 with a sensational century, smashing his way into the history books. In the 68th match of the season between SRH and KKR, Klaasen scored his fastest-ever IPL hundred in just 37 balls.

Walking in at No. 3 after a strong start by Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma (92-run stand), Klaasen turned on beast mode. He remained unbeaten on 105 off just 39 balls, blasting 7 fours and 9 sixes, with a strike rate of 269.23.

He brought up his century with a double off Vaibhav Arora’s final delivery of the 19th over.

That being said, this wasn’t just another century. Heinrich Klaasen now holds the record for the fastest century by an SRH batter in IPL history, breaking Travis Head’s 39-ball ton from last year. It’s also the joint-third fastest century in IPL history, tied with Yusuf Pathan’s 2010 blitz.

Here’s a list of records broken by Klaasen on May 25, 2025:

  • Joint-third fastest century in IPL history: 37-balls, tied with Yusuf Pathan
  • 9 - most sixes by a SRH batter in an IPL innings
  • 37 balls - fastest hundred by an SRH player in the IPL
  • 2 centuries - non-openers to score multiple centuries in the IPL
  • 105* (39) - highest individual score for Heinrich Klaasen in T20s
  • 19 - SRH vs KKR in Delhi - most sixes hit by a team in an innings in IPL 2025
  • SRH 278/3 vs KKR in Delhi, 2025 - third-highest total in IPL history

Owing to his spectacular knock, SRH posted a mammoth total of 278 runs at the loss of 3 wickets. While Hyderabad failed to qualify for playoffs, the fireworks in their last league game will surely boost their confidence for the next season.
