Heinrich Klaasen makes it all possible with his outstanding batting. In the 68th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the South African batter went berserk and smashed his first century of IPL 2025 and with this century, he shattered multiple records.
Heinrich Klaasen Slams Third-Fastest Century In IPL
Notably, it was the fastest century by an SRH batter in IPL history, surpassing the previous record held by Travis Head. Klaasen reached this remarkable milestone in just 37 balls. This knock also tied him with Yusuf Pathan for the third-fastest century in IPL history. Here’s how the fastest centuries rank:
Fastest centuries in IPL history:
- 30 balls – Chris Gayle vs PWI, 2013
- 35 balls – Vaibhav Suryavanshi vs GT, 2025
- 37 balls – Heinrich Klaasen vs KKR, 2025*
- 37 balls – Yusuf Pathan vs MI, 2010
The big moment came in the 19th over of SRH’s innings. Klaasen hit the ball through deep midwicket off Vaibhav Arora, ran two runs quickly, and reached his 100. It was a brilliant knock, especially considering it hasn’t been his best season so far.
Notably, Klaasen also became the fastest player to score a century against KKR in IPL history. This innings marked his second century in the IPL overall.
With the help of Klaasen's fireworks and a solid half-century by SRH star batter Travis Head, SRH put up a huge total of 278 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs, the third-highest score ever in IPL history. They completely dominated KKR’s bowlers.
