The opening stand between Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill produced 77 runs, the third-highest for India in Asia Cup T20s. The record remains with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, who posted 119 against Afghanistan in 2022.

Abhishek’s 75 off 37 balls now stands as India’s third-highest score in Asia Cup T20 history, behind Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan and Rohit Sharma’s 83 versus Bangladesh. It was also his second fifty of the tournament which he achieved in 25 balls.

5. Mustafizur Rahman reaches 150 T20I wickets

Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman dismissed Suryakumar Yadav to claim his 150th T20I wicket, surpassing Shakib Al Hasan’s tally of 149 to become Bangladesh’s leading wicket-taker in the format. He is now joint-third on the all-time list with Ish Sodhi.

6. Most sixes in Asia Cup T20 (Single Edition)

Abhishek Sharma continued his stunning form, hitting 17 sixes in the ongoing Asia Cup. He overtook legends like Sanath Jayasuriya (14), Rohit Sharma (13), and Shahid Afridi (12) for the most sixes in a single edition.
