In a crucial game turning moment, Darshan Nalkande of Gujarat Titans lose his priceless wicket while trying to steal some runs off Krunal Pandya, thus putting his side in jeopardy in a dicey 164 runs chase.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) were up against Gujarat Titans (GT) earlier today in Ekana Stadium when Nicholas Pooran’s anchor 43 ball 58 runs innings helped the host put up 163 runs on the board at the end of the first innings.

While the target looked fairly decent, it was indeed competitive, considering the pitch conditions.

That being said, GT were off to a fiery start with captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan stitching a 54 run partnership for the opening stand.

However, all hell broke loose after the fall of skipper Gill on the final delivery of the powerplay. Post that, the Titans’ middle order came crashing down as they went from 54/1 to 61/4.

Subsequently, the onus to rebuild the innings and somehow keep GT's alive in the competition fell on Darshan Kalkande and Vijay Shankar’s shoulders.

However, Nalkande miserably failed to absorb the pressure and fell on Krunal Pandya’s nothing delivery. The spinner set Darshan by pacing a short, fine leg in the catching position. He fired down a 99.1kph tossed-up delivery down the leg, and Nalkande only had enough time to flick it towards the leg side.

But in the process, Darshan Nalkande fell into Krunal’s trap and played straight into the hands of Yash Thakur at short fine leg.

While Krunal Pandya celebrated his third dismissal of the day, Darshan Nalkande walked back in deep anguish, and the GT camp wasn’t happy either as they sported glum faces.

Gujarat Titans would be livid with themselves as they had the game under control in powerplay. Fall of quick wickets is never a good sign, and that is exactly what will cost GT a win today.
