The ongoing Test match between India and Australia at the Optus Stadium, Perth, has been a fast-bowler’s dream, with the surface offering ample movement, bounce, and assistance to the seamers. Amid the thrilling contest, Mohammed Siraj grabbed the spotlight in the 16th over of Australia’s second innings, as he dismissed Mitchell Marsh with a stellar delivery.

The incident occured in the 16th over of the second innings, Mohammed Siraj bowled a back-of-a-length delivery around off-stump. The ball moved away subtly after pitching, and exploited the extra bounce on offer. Mitchell Marsh, attempted to defend completely misjudged the movement and got an outside edge. 

At third slip, KL Rahul was alert and ready. Diving to his left, extended his hands and managed to grab the ball just inches above the turf. 

The umpires decided to review the catch for clarity. Replays confirmed that KL Rahul had his fingers firmly underneath the ball, and the catch was deemed clean. As the giant screen flashed 'OUT,' Rahul joined the team in celebration, while Marsh trudged back to the pavilion, leaving Australia reeling. 

The dismissal of Mitchell Marsh added to Australia’s woes, it is worth mentioning that, the Indian pacers exploited the Perth's lively conditions and devastating effect. Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah set the tone with a fiery spell, taking three crucial wickets, while debutant Harshit Rana impressed with his line and length, as he dismissed Travis Head with a dream delivery. 

At the time of writing Australia is at a very difficult position as they have already lost 6 wickets at just 48 runs. Alex Carey and Pat Cummins are at the crease.
