Rishabh Pant has been quite consistent in Test cricket since the time he has made his debut, and has played plenty of match-winning knocks in the last few years. One of his most famous knocks is the match-winning one at the Gabba in the 2020-21 BGT and after more than three years since that knock, he is back with a bang in Australia.
On the opening day of the Perth Test, India found themselves crumble to 73 for 6 in no time. However, Rishabh Pant stood tall for India just like he did in the final Test against the Kiwis at the Wankhede. He was batting with his usual flair and aggression and hit one audacious six that only Rishabh Pant can pull off.
Rishabh Pant Fights Hard For India
It was the last ball of the 41st over and Pat Cummins bowled it full on off from 'round the wicket. Rishabh Pant got into an unusual position and whipped it over deep backward square leg for a six as he fell on the ground while hitting it. It was a typical Rishabh Pant shot which had unorthodoxy written all over it.
The shot surprised everyone watching the match at the Optus Stadium and on-air commentators too were left baffled by Pant's antics. However, Rishabh Pant could not carry on his start and departed on 37 as Cummins got his revenge to perfection. Earlier, India won the toss and decided to bat first, but Aussie pacers exploited the conditions perfectly and Indian batters failed to tackle the pace and bounce.
