Comeback man KL Rahul enthralled Colombo crowd and even his teammates with a scintillating knock against Pakistan in their Asia Cup 2023 Super Four clash. The elegant right-hander finished at an unbeaten 111 to notch up his sixth century in ODI cricket.
The batting veteran resumed Day 2 of the rain-marred ODI at 17*, and formed a colossal 233-run partnership with all-time great Virat Kohli for the third wicket. Rahul’s entertaining batting effort was laced with 12 boundaries and two huge sixes, with one of his maximums even drawing unparalleled praise from his captain as well as from his batting partner.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam employed part-timer Iftikhar Ahmed to bowl some overs during the middle stages of the Indian innings. His first ball of India’s 30th over was swatted over square leg side for a huge six by KL Rahul.
The batsman shuffled across his off stump to get inside the line and swept it hard and fine over to the leg side to bring up the first of his two sixes from the innings. The shot won over his batting partner Virat Kohli, and even his skipper Rohit Sharma at the team dressing room.
In the meantime, centuries from KL Rahul and Virat Kohli took India to a huge 356-2 from their 50 overs. ‘Men in Blue’ openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill also charted sparkling half-centuries upfront to lay out a solid foundation for their side.
