Over the course of two days, India put on a perfect batting performance against Pakistan in a rain-marred Super Four contest in the Asia Cup 2023, taking place at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. While Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma's aggressive fifties laid the groundwork for others earlier, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul provided adequate support with stunning centuries to get the job done.

India resumed the play on the reserve day on 147/2 in 24.1 overs, with both Rahul and Kohli not-too-set in the middle. The star duo began cautiously, dealing with singles and doubles under overcast conditions before shifting the gear.

In an innings decorated with gorgeous fours and sixes, both Rahul and Kohli showed class, making the highly-rated Pakistani bowling unit look helpless. Although the Men in Green attack was hampered by the absence of the injured Haris Rauf, the Indian duo's handling of the situation throughout the innings was stunning to watch.

In a brilliant unbeaten knock of 106-ball 111, Rahul blasted as many as 12 fours and two sixes. Kohli, from the other end, was more impressive to watch, courtesy of blasting nine fours and three sixes in a fluent 94-ball 122 not out. It was a scintillating partnership that lasted 233 runs without being broken.

India eventually finished on 356/2, the joint-highest total against Pakistan in ODIs. While almost every Pakistan bowlers were hammered all around the park, Shaheen Afridi's expensive figures of 10-0-79-1 highlighted the most.
