India are on the verge of another whitewash to West Indies as the Shubman Gill-led side are close to clinching 2nd Test to their name after forcing West Indies for a follow-on. It has been a dominating performance from Team India, and the batters only got to bat twice in the entire series. It for the second time in this series that West Indies can lose by an innings.
It is a tiring task to be on the field all day, and the players usually resort to mischievous acts to keep the tempo up, especially in such dull games. Meanwhile, KL Rahul too had a moment of his own that went viral on social media, where he thought that the lunch had been taken and took off the bails, acting like an official, only to be corrected by the on-field umpire Richard Illingworth.
KL Rahul's act creates a chaos in Arun Jaitley Stadium
The incident occurred after the 71st over, where KL Rahul and, in fact, the rest of the Indian team assumed that lunch had been taken. The players rushed towards the pavilion, but Illingworth quickly moved to the leg side of the field and called back the players as he felt that one more over could have been completed before lunch.
The commentators, too, were confused and the reason behind it was Rahul's mischievous act of dislodging the bails. A video has gone viral, where KL quietly walked beside the stumps and uprooted the bails, acting as if the on-field umpire had signalled to proceed for lunch.
However, it was not the case, and Rahul's action only created further confusion, leading to more delay in actually taking the lunch.
