RCB to offload Liam Livingstone? England stars who might be released for IPL 2026

The preparations for IPL 2026 are in full swing as the BCCI has set November 15 as the last date for all ten franchises to submit their retention list.

The upcoming edition will see a mini-auction, and it is up to the teams whether they want to release someone or not. However, all teams are expected to be loading off a few star players to create space for new talents and not miss out on great potential in the auction. 

Meanwhile, this article will shed light on the England players and how many players from the UK might be released for IPL 2026.

1. Jamie Overton - CSK

CSK might look to offload Jamie Overton as the England star featured in just two games for the Men in Yellow in IPL 2025. Overton, in those two matches, scored just 15 runs and failed to pick up a solitary wicket.

CSK bought Overton at his base price of 1.5 crores, but the right-handed all-rounder has failed to fit in the squad and looks like he has to find another team for the coming season. 

2. Sam Curran - CSK

For Sam Curran, there are reports that CSK are looking to release the England star. Further, Curran's stats also don't support his retention as the player, who was once the highest-paid player in IPL history, is now struggling to find a place in the team.

During IPL 2025, Sam Curran played just five matches and only amassed 114 runs, averaging 22.80. Further, he took just a solitary wicket.

3. Liam Livingstone - RCB

RCB won the IPL for the first time in 2025 after the Rajat Patidar-led side beat Punjab Kings in the final. The Challengers ended their 18-year-long drought, and the entire squad played a key part in the success. 

However, if there needs to be a weak link pointed out ahead of IPL 2026, then it has to be Liam Livingstone. The England star featured in 8 innings for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and could only amass 112 runs, which includes a solitary fifty-plus score.

4. Reece Topley - MI

For IPL 2025, MI bought Topley for just 75 lakhs at his base price, but didn't quite utilise the bowler for their 2025 season. Reece Topley, featured in just one innings for the Mumbai Indians, failed to pick up a solitary wicket.

Thus, for MI, they can free up an overseas slot and look to buy a young talent during IPL 2025 mini-auction.
