No worrying signs as BCCI gives update on Sudharsan's injury
Ravindra Jadeja bowled a fuller length delivery as batter John Campbell struck a ferocious sweep shot as Sudharsan was standing at short leg. The Indian fielder ducked quickly and kept his hands in front of his chest as the ball somehow got stuck in his hands, as he grabbed an unreal catch. After the catch, he looked in immense pain as the physio attended to him in the team dugout.
Ahead of Day 3, the BCCI medical team released an official update on Sai Sudharsan's injury concerns.
"Sai Sudharsan had an impact injury on Day 2 while attempting a catch. He has not taken the field today as a precautionary measure. The injury is not serious, and he is doing fine. He continues to be monitored by the BCCI Medical Team," as quoted by Cricbuzz.
Sudharsan's dream Test match vs WI
Sudharsan was under pressure heading into the second Test match vs the West Indies, and the southpaw repaid coach Gautam Gambhir’s faith with a gritty knock. Coming in at number 3, Sudharsan showed immense potential as he scored 87 off 165 balls and laid the foundation for captain Shubman Gill, who went on to score his 10th Test ton.
Apart from his batting, Sudharsan also impressed on the field with his brilliant reflex catch to send Campbell packing. However, this came at a cost as the fielder was taken off the field.
