South Africa Women demoralised Pakistan to register their fifth successive win this 2025 Women’s World Cup. Marizanne Kapp unleashed an exceptional all-round spectacle, while Laura Wolvaardt and Sune Luus aggregated swift half-centuries in the rain-shortened game.

Wolvaardt, Kapp and Sune Luus rocket South Africa up to 312

In a rain-curtailed 40-overs innings, South Africa Women mounted 312-9. Sune Luus at number three also listed 61 from 59, and legendary all-rounder Marizanne Kapp unpacked 68* off just 43 balls. Nadine de Klerk also unleashed 41 from 16 in the slog overs to turbo-charge the South Africa innings at the death.

For Pakistan, Sadia Iqbal picked up figures of 3-63 and Nashra Sandhu claimed 3-45, both from eight overs each.

Pakistan kneel before Marizanne Kapp in revised chase

Pakistan Women had their top-order wrecked by Marizanne Kapp, who dismissed the likes of Omaima Sohail, Sidra Amin and Aliya Riaz to claim figures of 3-20 from her five overs. Chasing 234 in a revised 20-over innings, Pakistan ended up reaching just a sluggish 83-7 to fall 150 runs short of their DLS target as South Africa registered their fifth straight win of the 2025 Women’s World Cup.

Nondumiso Shangase also chipped in with two wickets at an expense of 19 runs from her five overs and Ayabonga Khaka dismissed Muneeba Ali in her tight spell.
