In a remarkable achievement, Ravindra Jadeja joined India's legendary batters as he completed 1000 Test runs on English soil. The talismanic all-rounder unlocked the feat on day 5 of the ongoing fourth Test against England at Old Trafford, Manchester. 

Ravindra Jadeja Brings Up 1000 Test Runs In England

After England posted a massive 669-run total on the board, India had the worst possible start to their second innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal and B Sai Sudharsan departed without opening their account before KL Rahul and captain Shubman Gill steadied the ship with a valiant stand. 

As Gill and Rahul marked their exit from the ground, Ravindra Jadeja joined Washington Sundar in the middle. The all-rounders countered the English attack with precision, putting up a commendable batting effort on a challenging pitch. 

While Sundar adopted a more cautious approach, Jadeja played his natural game, putting away the poor deliveries into the fence. Thus, the left-handed batter breached the 1000-run mark in Tests in England, joining several Indian greats on the elusive list.

As mentioned above, Ravindra Jadeja currently claims seventh place on the list of India's highest run-getters in Tests in England. He has a real chance to surpass Virat Kohli, who is currently placed fifth with 1096 runs, by the end of this series. 

The Manchester Test is steadily heading towards a draw, with Jadeja and Sundar showing commendable grit for India. Unless the Englishmen scalp a few quick wickets and push the visitors down on the mat, the game will likely conclude in a stalemate.
