In a significant development, South Africa's legendary batter AB de Villiers brought up a sensational century in the ongoing World Championship of Legends (WCL) encounter against Australia Champions. The talismanic cricketer stunned the Australians with a power-packed ton.

AB de Villiers' Storm Blows Australia Champions Away In WCL

The incident occurred during the 13th over of South Africa Champions' innings when Australia Champions were searching for the first wicket. AB de Villiers and JJ Smuts left the Aussies shell-shocked with a scintillating stand, asserting the Proteas' dominance in the high-profile contest.

Eventually, De Villiers went on to bring up his second century in the WCL 2025. He hammered eleven boundaries and seven sixes for his whirlwind 39-ball hundred that pretty much sealed the game for South Africa in the first half itself.

This was De Villiers' second successive ton in the tournament. In his previous outing, he tormented the English bowling attack, leading South Africa Champions to glory with a magnificent 51-ball 116*.

However, soon after completing his century, AB de Villiers made his way back to the dugout, with Peter Siddle getting his prized scalp. The legendary batter smashed 123 runs in just 46 balls, extending his purple patch in the tournament.

After his departure, JP Duminy joined JJ Smuts in the middle; however, the southpaw got out for a quick-fire nine-ball sixteen. His dismissal brought keeper-batter Morne van Wyk into the middle.

Despite losing two quick wickets, South Africa Champions have already ensured a mammoth score on the board. As of writing, the Proteas were 224 for two in 17 overs, with Smuts and van Wyk batting on 74* and 3*, respectively.
