On Sunday, April 27, Delhi Capitals hosted Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The visitors won the toss and opted to field first, asking Axar Patel-led side to bat first. Talking about the two teams, they made changes to the side as DC received a boost by the return of Faf du Plessis. 

However, for RCB, they have dealt a blow as Phil Salt misses out on this crucial match and has been replaced by Jacob Bethell. The RCB all-rounder made a lot of noise of  during IPL 2025 mega-auction as the Challengers had let go most of the overseas players on day 1 of the event and reserved their purse value for Jacob Bethell, who came under the hammer towards the end on day 2. 

Now since Bethell has been presented the opportunity to shine and perform for the three-time finalists, lets look at how much did RCB pay for Jacob Bethell during IPL 2025 mega-auction. 

What is Jacob Bethell’s IPL Price?

It is worth noting that Bethell had registered for IPL 2025 mega-auction at a base price of 1.25 crores. Further, RCB had secured Bethell's services for a whopping 2.60 crores. Notably, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings had also registered their interest in signing Bethell, but the Challengers had eventually outbidded the Kings. 

Talking about his recent performances, then in the recent  BBL 2024-25, Bethell featured for the Melbourne Renegades, where he managed to mint just 195 runs in eight innings at an average of just 24.37, and a strike rate of 125, far below than his career T20 strike rate of 139.04.
