In the ongoing IPL 2025 match between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium, Suryakumar Yadav has gone passed Gujarat Titans' Sai Sudharsan to become IPL 2025's leading run-getter and the new orange cap holder. 

Suryakumar Yadav has been at his best in this tournament as the right-hand batter scored a fifty against Lucknow Super Giants that helped him go past Sai. Notably, before the ongoing match, Sai led the orange cap chart with 417 runs, but now SKY has 427 runs. 

In the ongoing match, Surya returned to the pavilion with a score of 54 (28), which featured four fours and four sixes. Following the mid-innings, SKY was presented with the orange cap and he only faced a threat from Nicholas Pooran ,who wasn't far behind him, but Pooran returned to the pavilion for 27 (15), making SKY wear the orange cap for the rest of the match.

Further, the MI star also scripted several feats with his knock as he also became MI's 2nd leading run-getter in IPL history and is only behind Rohit Sharma in that list.
