Suryakumar Yadav, fresh off an injury, showed no signs of rust, hammering a rapid 52 from 19 deliveries, as Mumbai chased down a massive target of 199 in a mere 15.3 overs. Their performance was surely a warning shot to their rivals.

Furthermore, Jasprit Bumrah’s masterclass in bowling was another feather in their cap. Snaring 5 wickets for 21 runs in his four-over spell, Bumrah took his second IPL fifer.

On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings have had a mixed start to IPL 2024. After a solid start with two wins and a brief slump with consecutive defeats, they returned to form with a comprehensive seven-wicket victory against Kolkata Knight Riders. 

Currently third in the standings, CSK have won three out of their five matches.

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, with a composed 67* against KKR, was the linchpin of CSK’s batting. His leadership at the crease and the solid backing from the rest of the batting lineup displayed CSK's balanced approach to the game.

The bowling department, led by Ravindra Jadeja who took 3 wickets for 18 runs, effectively contained KKR batters. 

Supported by Mustafizur Rahman and Tushar Deshpande, who collectively bagged five wickets in the last match, the bowling unit has been crucial to CSK’s strategy, keeping even the best of batters in check.
