In a significant development, Rajasthan Royals have won the toss and opted to bowl against Punjab Kings in the 27th group-stage match of the ongoing Indian Premier League season. Both teams are without some of their key players.

While the Kings will be led by Sam Curran in Shikhar Dhawan's absence, the Royals will miss Jos Buttler and Ravichandran Ashwin, who miss out due to minor injuries.

At toss, RR skipper Sanju Samson said,

"We will bowl first here. It looks like a decent wicket. Yes, we will be missing the legends tonight. Jos Buttler is not 100% and Ashwin is not playing due to niggle. Rovman Powell comes in and Tanush Kotian makes his debut."

Meanwhile, Samson's counterpart Sam Curran revealed why Dhawan isn't playing and said,

"Unfortunately, Shikhar has picked up a niggle and I'm here. Hopefully, I can do well for the team. We would have bowled first as well. But nothing we can do right now. We have to do well now with the bat in hand."
