The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be eager to hit back at Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) when both sides collide in Match 58 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. LSG had comprehensively defeated SRH by five wickets when they met in Lucknow earlier in the season.

SRH with four wins and sixes losses, sit ninth in the IPL 2023 points table and have an outside chance of making it into the playoffs, depending on how other teams fare.

On the other hand, LSG has a clear shot at making it into the playoffs, having won five and lost as many matches this season. A loss here, won't negate their chances.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

Openers

Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi

Sharma and Tripathi have been SRH's bright light this season, having scored 237 and 209 runs, respectively. Sharma, who was drafted late into the XI, has repaid the faith shown by the management.

However, both have been struggling for runs in the last few matches and will need to pull up their socks.

Middle Order

Aiden Markram (c), Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Glenn Phillips, Abdul Samad

The inclusion of Glenn Phillips brought in a change of fortunes for SRH in their last outing against Rajasthan Royals. Phillips along with Abdul Samad could very well form a devastating finishing duo.

Klaasen has been the backbone for SRH's batting, having scored 215 runs. Markram needs to get his mojo back before the qualification gets out of reach.

Bowlers

Marco Jansen, Vivrant Sharma, Mayank Markande, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan

SRH's bowling have been the saving grace in a season riddled with injuries and poor performances. T Natarajan and Bhuvneshwar have spearheaded the attack ably, with Mayank Markande spinning his web around batters.

Marco Jansen with the new ball has been quite potent, however, has struggled in the death overs. Newcomer Vivrant Sharma will likely to get another go.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

Openers

Quinton de Kock and Kyle Mayers

Mayers has been explosive at the top, and now with de Kock's inclusion, LSG in the duo has an envious top order. de Kock despite warming the bench, showed no signs of rust against Gujarat Titans.

Much of LSG's success lies in how Mayers bats, being the leader of the batting pack with 356 runs.

Middle Order

Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya(c), Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni

Team management will once again back Deepak Hooda to come good, despite having a poor season. Skipper Pandya, Stoinis, and Pooran are pillars of LSG's lineup in KL Rahul's unavailability, who will hope to turn around things for their side as the business end approaches.

Ayush Badoni is likely to be drafted in the XI for Swapnil Singh. Badoni has been the franchise's fifth-best batter this edition.

Bowlers

Amit Mishra, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan

Apart from Bishnoi, no other bowler in the current attack has taken more than 10 wickets, which has been their weakness. Avesh and Mohsin have been sporadic given their injury concerns.

Yash Thakur will need to overcome his performance against GT and get into his groove quickly. The management might be tempted to play, Amit Mishra, who despite economic bowling has warmed the bench, and kind of left underutilised on conditions that are starting to suit spinners.
