Rinku Singh has hit the ground running and appears to be in red-hot form for his franchise this season. From doing a sweeper's job to dazzling the crowd through his last-over heroics, Rinku has come a long way. He has matured as a cricketer ever since his IPL debut in 2017 and is displaying his class in the current IPL season by helping KKR navigate through precarious times. The 25-year-old is averaging over 50 with the bat this season and is striking it well over 145.

But with time running out and KKR's playoff chances diminishing with each passing game, the KKR think tank will be counting on him to deliver some breathtaking performances to lift them out of the hole.

In the latest discussion with India Today, Rinku revealed how MS Dhoni advised him to keep things simple and not try anything out of the ordinary.

"He's (MS Dhoni) the world's best finisher I just asked 'Bhaiya' what else I could do while I'm going to bat. He just told me don't think much, just wait for the ball and play according to it."

Rinku has taken MSD's advice seriously and wishes to play free-flowing cricket without involving significant changes to his batting technique.

"I want to play simple shots. I don't want to play extravagant shots. I play according to balls and as per the situation. All players work on their own shots, and I try to be very simple."

KKR are ranking number 7 in the points table sitting at an NRR of -0.357. They will head to the CSK fortress on May 14 for their next encounter with the men in yellow.
