Former KKR Player Gives Kohli's Analogy to Slam Suyash Sharma For Trying to Deny Yashasvi Jaiswal Century

Yashasvi Jaiswal narrowly missed his second century of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season, as he remained unbeaten on 98 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a one-sided encounter, where Rajasthan Royals prevailed by nine wickets.

Jaiswal slammed 98 off 47 balls, which included 13 fours and five sixes, where he ended up registering the fastest ever IPL fifty.

However, former India opener has slammed KKR bowler Suyash Sharma for trying to deny Jaiswal a century. Sharma tried bowling a wide ball on the final ball of the 13th over, where RR needed just three runs to win. An alert Sanju Samson ended up blocking the ball and ensured that Jaiswal had his crack at a century in the next over.

Chopra, who has also played for KKR, took to Twitter to express his disappointment in Sharma, who has been the find of the season for the Kolkata-based franchise by giving a hypothetical analogy of Virat Kohli.

Here's what Chopra Tweeted

"Trying to bowl a wide to prevent Yashasvi from getting to his 100....poor taste IMHO.

Imagine a Pakistan bowler doing that to prevent Kohli from getting to his century. The same people who are giving gyan on how it's absolutely okay...and that it wasn't deliberate...will ensure that that bowler starts trending in minutes. Trolling level hi alag hota tab. Typical Twitter behaviour IMO."

Jaiswal (575) with this knock, is now only one-run behind Faf du Plessis (576) in the race for the orange cap.

RR are now in third position with 12 points, while KKR have dropped to seventh spot.
