'We Have one of, If Not The Best, Bowling Attacks...' Marnus Labuschagne Warns England

Fresh from slamming a County hundred for Glamorgan, Australia's Marnus Labuschagne has fired a salvo at Ben Stokes and Co. for the upcoming Ashes 2023 series, which will take place in England beginning June 16. Labuschagne is playing in the ongoing County Championship 2023-24 edition as an overseas player for Glamorgan and is gaining much-needed practice ahead of the five-match Test series and ICC World Test Championship Final.

Labuschagne gained fame after participating in Ashes 2019 after a Jofra Archer bouncer knocked over Steve Smith in Old Trafford Test. Since then, the right-handed batter has carved a niche for himself, hitting 10 centuries and 15 half-centuries at an average of 57.

Speaking about the upcoming Ashes, Labuschagne has urged England batters to play 'BazBall' approach against the Australian attack, which is known as one of the best in the world.

Under Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum, England's Test side has risen exponentially since their 0-4 drubbing in the last Ashes 2021-22 Down Under.

As quoted by Mail Sport, the 29-year-old also talked about Archer's potential unavailability for England.

Here's what Labuschagne said

‘I don’t care what wickets are rolled out. My job is to score runs, whatever the conditions. But if they feel that’s their best way to beat us, we’ll certainly take it on. We have one of, if not the best, bowling attacks in the world, so if you want to take us on at our own game, then I commend them if they can get on top of a high- quality attack.

To have him in your side is a massive inclusion, but England have played without Archer for four years, so they’re accustomed to him being more of a luxury than a mainstay. The likes of Ollie Robinson, Broad, Anderson, Mark Wood, Matthew Potts — you prepare for all those bowlers, but obviously your team’s better with Archer in it."

The first Ashes Test will be played at Edgbaston on June 16, immediately after Australia meet India in the all-important WTC Final at The Oval on June 7.
