Not a single over has been lost in India's Asia Cup 2023 fixture against Nepal despite a prolonged rain break on Monday (September 4), taking place at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

Earlier in the match, there were a few interruptions due to rain, but the break did not take a while. However, after 37.5 overs, there were no stopping, and thus, Nepal batters Dipendra Singh Airee and Sompal Kami had to rush back to the pavilion. By then, Rohit Paudel & Co. reached 178/6.

For India, Ravindra Jadeja scalped the most wickets, claiming 3/35 in his nine overs. Mohammed Siraj picked up two wickets, while Shardul Thakur provided the much-needed breakthrough after Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh got Nepal off to a rousing start.

This is an important fixture for the Men in Blue, who had a game abandoned against arch-rivals Pakistan less than 48 hours ago. A victory over Nepal will take them to the Super Four round alongside Pakistan, who defeated Rohit Paudel & Co. by 238 runs. Hence, despite their game against India was called off, their qualification in the next round has been guaranteed.
