Team India Women will look to continue their continental dominance in the tournament when they take on UAE Women in the 8th match of the Women's Asia Cup 2022 on Tuesday, October 4 at Sylhet District Stadium on Tuesday, October 4. 

Having won both their games so far, India Women are sitting comfortably at the second place of the points tally with 4 points. They outfoxed Malaysia Women by 30 runs in their most recent fixture and heading into their next fixture, they would look to continue their winning momentum. 

United Arab Emirates Women, on the other hand lost their opening game against Sri Lanka Women by 11 runs via the DLS method. Their bowlers furnished a stellar bowling performance and restricted Sri Lanka to a paltry total of 109 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. 

However, their batters failed to chase down the DLS adjusted total and could manage only 54 runs and lost the match by 11 runs. Facing a quality side like India Women would be a stiff challenge for the UAE Women, who have never faced them ever before in this format.

  • Jeminah Rodrigues: She made a brilliant comeback to the team, claiming the Player of the Match award in the first game itself. She played a whirlwind knock of 76 runs off just 53 deliveries to help India post a total of 150 runs against Sri Lanka in the opening game. 
  • Sabbhineni Meghana: She is the second leading run-scorer in the tournament and follows Jemimah Rodrigues closely in the tally. She played an outstanding knock of 69 runs against Malaysian Women to help India post a mammoth target of 181 runs.  
  • Dayalan Hemalatha: She was on a wicket taking spree against Sri Lanka Women in the opening game. The right-arm spinner picked three wickets in her 2.2 overs' spell while conceding only 15 runs. She has also garnered 23 runs in two matches at a strike rate of 164.29.
  • Vaishnave Mahesh: She was sensational with the ball in the opening game against Sri Lanka Women, picking three wickets in her four overs quota. Also, she was the most economical bowler of her team, having conceded just 15 runs.
