Team India has roped in the left-arm pace duo of Mukesh Choudhary and Chetan Sakariya along with Tamil Nadu spin all-rounder R Sai Kishore as the back-up cum net bowlers for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022, set to be played later this month in Australia.

Earlier Jammu speedster Umran Malik and Kuldeep Sen were also added to the roster as the net bowlers for the gala event. The fast bowling duo of Mukesh Choudhary and Chetan Sakariya will now accompany them Down Under.

Choudhary, who had an impressive outing for Chennai Super Kings in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League, is currently grinding hard in Pune while the likes of Umran Malik, Sakariya and Kuldeep Sen are playing in the Irani Cup.

R Sai Kishore, meanwhile last featured in the Duleep Trophy on September 21, where he picked a phenomenal five wicket-haul in the second innings against South Zone.

According to the reports of Sportstar, the main squad players of team India and the standbys will jet off to Australia along with the backup players on Thursday, October 6 after the completion of the three-match T20I series against South Africa.

As for Mohammed Siraj, the Hyderabad pacer has been added in the ODI squad against South Africa and he is likely to join the squad in Brisbane along with Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi and Deepak Chahar after the conclusion of the home series against Proteas.

Team India, meanwhile jolted with a big blow ahead of the marquee event as their premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022 due to serious back injury.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released an official statement to provide an update on the star pacer's unavailability and stated that they will soon announce the replacement for Bumrah.

India's senior pacer Mohammed Shami, who has been added to the squad as a traveling reserve, is expected to be added as Bumrah's replacement in the team, considering his experience in the shortest format.

Here it is pertinent to mention that the Uttar Pradesh pacer hasn't featured in a single T20I for India since the T20 World Cup last year. He was added to the squad against Australia for the three-match T20I series but was ruled out after testing positive for Covid-19.
