Team India will go head-to-head against South Africa in the third and final T20I of the series, set to be played on Tuesday, October 4 at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. 

Rohit Sharma & Co. have already wrapped up the series after winning the first two T20I convincingly, but this won’t be a complete dead rubber fixture for South Africa as they would look to fine-tune their preparation for the 2022 Men's T20 World Cup and return to the winning ways ahead of the showpiece event.  

Heading into the third T20I, while the hosts will eye a clean sweep, the Proteas will expect a better show from their bowlers, who were hammered all around the park in the second T20I at Guwahati. All in all, with some of the best T20 stars taking the field against each other, an exhilarating game beckons at Indore. 

Key Players

  • Suryakumar Yadav: The Mumbai batter is enjoying the form of his life as he is consistently piling up runs for India. In this series, he has mustered 111 runs at a sensational strike rate of 201.82. 
  • Quinton de Kock: The South African wicket-keeper batter scored 69 runs off 48 balls in the most recent encounter. He looked in great touch during his inning and will look to keep the momentum intact. 
  • David Miller: He played a whirlwind knock of unbeaten 106 from just 47 balls in the second T20I against India but failed to take his side home. He will be looking to replicate his batting heroics in the final T20I and help his side finish the series on a high. 
  • Arshdeep Singh: The young left-arm pacer picked five wickets from two innings and is currently the leading wicket-taker in the series. He was taken to the cleaners in the second T20I and will look to make a strong comeback in this match.

Players' Availability

Reportedly, former India captain Virat Kohli and swashbuckling opener KL Rahul have been given a rest from the third T20I and they will not be available for selection on Tuesday.
