An exhibition of fearless batting followed by a clinical and disciplined bowling performance helped England record a thumping 67-run victory over Pakistan in the deciding T20I of the seven-match series on Sunday, October 2 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Chasing the stiff target of 210 runs, the hosts were behind the asking rate from the word go as their star opener Mohammad Rizwan (1) and Babar Azam (4) failed to fire with the bat.

Pakistan soon slumped to 33 for 3 inside the power play and despite a fighting half-century from Shan Masood, they could not recover from the batting collapse or come close to the target.

Khushdil Shah, with 25-ball 27, and Iftikhar Ahmed, with 16-ball 19 were the other two batters, who could score in double digits alongside Shan Masood as Pakistan finished off with 142 runs for the loss of 8 wickets at the end of the 20 overs.

For England, Chris Woakes starred with the ball as he bagged a sensational three-wicket haul. He was well followed by David Willey, who got two to his name. Sam Curran, Reece Topley, and Adil Rashid were among the wickets as well.

Dawid Malan knock turbocharged England's inning

Earlier, England started from where they left in the sixth T20I and posted a mammoth total of 209 runs on the board for the loss of three wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Dawid Malan top-scored with an unbeaten 78 off 47 balls, while Harry Brook bludgeoned 46 not out as the duo shared the match-defining partnership of unbeaten 108 for the fourth wicket.

Ben Duckett (19-ball 30) and Philip Salt (12-ball 20) also chipped in with quickfire knocks. For Pakistan, only Mohammad Hasnain could get a wicket, while the remaining bowlers were hammered all over the ground.
