IND vs BAN | Shakib Al Hasan Misses Out As Bangladesh Decide To Bat First In Pune

In a big news coming up from Pune, Shakib Al Hasan, the skipper and star all-rounder of Bangladesh has missed out from the big game against India in Pune. They have won the toss though and have decided to bat first with Najmul Hossain Shanto leading in absence of Shakib. This is a big blow for Bangladesh as they rely heavily on Shakib in all departments and this provides India an even more edge coming into their fourth match of the tournament. India, on the other hand, are playing the same team with Rohit Sharma emphasising on the need to continue the winning momentum.

Bangladesh have brought in Nasum Ahmed an extra spinner in place of Shakib Al Hasan as Indian batters have struggled against left-arm orthodox spin. Also, Taskin Ahmed has been replaced by Hasan Mahmud and Bangladesh would be hoping that the change works and they get early wickets with the new ball.

Rohit Sharma and company, on the other hand, are not looking in mood to make any changes and experiment in this marquee event and are going with same arsenal that has dominated the proceedings so far.

Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "Would have bowled first. [On his batting approach] It's something I've been working on for a while now and it is working so I don't see any reason to change it.It is important in this World cup to keep everyone in good space. That's one of the biggest challenge when you play a long format and you move from one place to another. Boys are in good mental space and enjoying the cricket that we've been playing as well. We want to continue the same momentum. We have the same team."


Najmul Hossain Shanto (Bangladesh Captain): "We will bat first. Yeah, it's a great feeling for me and my family. So We are going to bat. Fresh wicket and a good one. If we put up a good score, it will be a good one for the team.Shakib is missing out. He had suffered a quad injury during the game against New Zealand. He is still struggling a bit. Nasum Ahmed comes in for Shakib.We have great memories against India, and hopefully, we continue the same form against them. We would love to see a great support from the crowd. Hopefully, they come in and support both teams. Also Hasan Mahmud comes in for Taskin. Shakib is missing, as I said earlier, and Nasum comes in for him."

The pitch in Pune is expected to be a belter and let's see how things pan out between two sides looking to stamp their authority in the erstwhile capital of Maratha Kingdom.
