Hardik Pandya highlighted India's philosophy and team ethics as the key reason behind Rohit Sharma and the company's excellent start to the ICC World Cup 2023.

The premier allrounder and vice-captain underlined India's mantra for success at the quadrennial event after the two-time champions clinched their third consecutive victory in the league stage.

Having pulled off comprehensive wins against Australia and Afghanistan, Team India went 3-0 up with a dominant triumph versus arch-rivals Pakistan in front of a 1.2 lakh capacity crowd in Ahmedabad last Saturday (October 14), raising billion hopes of keeping the prestigious World Cup trophy home.

The memorable win against the Pakistanis became an ideal setting for Pandya to speak of how sticking together at all times and progressing as a unit is doing wonders for Men in Blue. He said that is the secret behind India's grand start in their quest to regain the ultimate crown after 12 long years.

Speaking to Star Sports after India completed their seven-wicket victory over Pakistan at the iconic stadium in Motera, Pandya attributed the side's successful beginnings in the campaign to their team culture, communication and a healthy dressing room atmosphere.

"When our playing XI is shown in the team meeting in the dressing room, it is shown with our old and childhood pictures. And atmosphere in dressing room is very good and light and fun. We are playing as a unit and together," Pandya was quoted as saying.

The fast-bowling allrounder revealed a heartening team exercise organised by the management under coach Rahul Dravid, where the playing XI is finalised with the childhood images of the cricketers, which helps ease the tension a bit and relaxes the atmosphere within the group.

India will rally on those values and immense skill to their next league-stage encounter of the World Cup in Pune on Thursday (October 19) against Bangladesh, a team that famously upstaged Men in Blue at the 2007 edition of the competition. India are currently second from the numero uno spot in the points table, while the Bangla Tigers stand at sixth with two losses and a solitary win.
