Alex Carey played a knock of his lifetime against Kiwis at Christchurch to take Aussies over the line by three wickets in a thrilling Test match. However, there was a moment in the game where everyone thought he is out, but DRS rescued Carey and Australia and they ended up whitewashing New Zealand at their own backyard.

The target was 279 for Pat Cummins and co.  to seal the series and New Zealand came out with great intent as they reduced Australia to 34-4 in no time. Australia looked down and out at that moment and after a brief stand between Head and Mitchell Marsh, Head too fell for 18, putting Australia in another big hole.

Matt Henry was breathing fire and though Carey came out with positive intent and started building healthy stand with Marsh, the inswinger from Henry in the 34th over proved too hot to handle as he was struck on the pads trying to flick the ball.

A loud appeal from the Kiwis followed and the umpire too did not hesitate to raise his finger. Carey though decided to take the DRS and took the review in a hope that the ball is slanting down the leg side and will be missing the leg stump.

His punt worked wonderfully well and the Ball Tracking showed that the ball is missing the stumps which overturned the decision providing Carey with a much-needed lifeline. The left-handed wicketkeeper batter did not look back after that delivery and though wicket fell at the other end, he continued his progression and along with captain Cummins took Australia over the line.
