RCB have notched up their second win of the season with an impressive bowling display against DC. They looked below-par with the bat but their bowlers stepped up and one of them was Vyshak Vijaykumar. He made his debut for RCB and showed a lot of heart during his spell to end with the best figures for RCB by an Indian Bowler on debut.

He picked three wickets and gave away just 20 runs in his four overs to derail DC's chase. Talking after the match, the young man was pretty happy and talked about he went about his business before the game.

He said that he was not aware of his record of best figures by an Indian RCB bowler and said that it was nice feeling to be playing at M. Chinnaswamy. He added that he was looking for an opportunity for a long time and finally got a game.

"I didn't know that (on being the record holder of Vyshak Vijaykumar's spell of 4-0-20-3 are the best figures for an Indian bowler playing for RCB on IPL debut). It was a nice feeling to be playing here. It's my first outing. I was looking for an opportunity for a long time and finally got a game,"

He also talked about his plans while bowling and said that as the wicket was slightly on the slower side, he went for change of pace. He added that he kept bowling hard lengths and changed his pace and said that Faf told him to go for a slower ball when Warner was batting well. He also informed that he was working on a knuckleball for two years and it finally paid rich dividends to him. He signed off by saying that he was a bit nervous at the start but management backed him and told him to express himself and said that he was helping his team by bowling in the nets so far.

"Yeah, Faf told me that the wicket has slightly on the slower side and it was holding up a bit. Hence I went for a change of paces. It rewarded me. I kept on bowling on hard lengths with some change of pace. Yeah, again that was Faf who came in and said to go for a slower one when Warner was going all guns blazing and it paid off for me. I was working on knuckleball for two years and now finally it has paid the dividend for me. I was a bit nervous at the start, but the management said to go out there and express myself. Yeah, I was bowling at the nets and helping out my teammates."

RCB will now play CSK at M. Chinnaswamy on 17th of April and it promises to be a cracking encounter with both MSD and Virat Kohli going up against each other.
