In the ongoing IPL 2025 eliminator between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans at the Mullanpur Stadium, former MI captain Rohit Sharma has entered the history books as the hitman has completed 7000 runs in IPL. 

Before the start of the match, Rohit required just 43 runs to complete 7000 IPL runs and at the time of writing this article, Rohit Sharma has also completed his fifty and scripted this milestone in 271 matches with a six. It is a special game for the hitman as, prior to this match, the hitman didn't had a great record in playoffs and had an average of just 15. However, the stat will change following this match.

Rohit Sharma Closes Gap With Virat Kohli

With the feat, Rohit has become just the second player after Virat Kohli to breach the 7000+ runs in IPL history. Talking about Virat Kohli, the former RCB captain has 8618 runs in just 256 matches. The 7000-runs mark was not the only record scripted by Rohit Sharma as he completed his fifty in style and also become the first Indian in the history of IPL to smash 300 IPL sixes.
