On Friday, May 30, Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans locked horns at the Mullanpur Stadium in the IPL 2025 eliminator match. Hardik Pandya won the toss and asked GT to bowl first. Further, both teams were forced to make several changes because of the unavailability of overseas stars, who returned for international duties.

Meanwhile, MI were forced to make another change as star seamer Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the match because of a hamstring injury. Notably, during MI's last league stage match against  Punjab Kings, Chahar picked up a hamstring injury and only managed to bowl three overs in that game.

Further, Chahar was also spotted with heavy bandaging at the airport which raised doubts over his participation. Nonetheless, 37-year-old Richard Gleeson has been roped in as Chahar's replacement for the ongoing match.

Who Is Richard Gleeson?

Richard Gleeson was not a part of MI's squad, but the five-time winners roped in the 37-year-old as a replacement for their overseas stars who left for international duties. Talking about Gleeson, the England star bowler has played six T20Is for the Three Lions and also featured for CSK in 2024, but failed to get any match.

Talking about the ongoing match, it will be Gleeson's first game of the season and his debut for Mumbai Indians.
