The Mumbai Indians perhaps made the move of the IPL 2025 as they replaced the outgoing Will Jacks with his English teammate, Jonny Bairstow for the playoff matches. Bairstow, a former SRH and PBKS batter was playing in England when he received a call from the 5-time IPL champions.

The move looked even smarter as the English batter made his MI debut in the clash Vs Gujarat Titans and the explosive batter looked dangerous right from the onset as he tore apart the GT bowlers with ease. He started in the fifth gear from ball one and it eased up the pressure on Rohit Sharma. So, the question arises, how much did MI pay to buy his services?.

For the playoffs, MI paid a whopping INR 5.25 crore to buy the services of English batter, Jonny Bairstow. Bairstow, however, could only play a maximum of 3 matches for MI, if they reach the finale.

He is currently playing in the Eliminator, and if MI beat GT, he will play in the Qualifier 2 and a potential finale on June 3.
