Hasan Nawaz Breaks Babar Azam's Record, Attains Massive Feat With Blistering Ton

Pakistan's swashbuckling batter Hasan Nawaz had a memorable outing, as he hammered a blistering knock in the third T20I against New Zealand at Eden Park. Opening the batting for Pakistan, Nawaz struck a belligerent innings, ensuring a great turnaround for the visitors. 

Hasan Nawaz Breaks Babar's Record, Joins Pakistan Greats

After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Pakistan bowled New Zealand out for 204 runs in 19.5 overs. In response, Pakistan had a dream start to their innings, with Hasan Nawaz and Mohammad Haris forming a blistering 74-run stand for the opening wicket. 

After Haris got out to Jacob Duffy, Nawaz steadied the ship with captain Salman Ali Agha, stitching a crucial partnership for the second wicket. The dynamic batter brought up his half-century in this process, placing himself among Pakistan's T20 greats on an elite list. 

As soon as Hasan breached the 80-run mark, he went past Babar Azam on the list of Pakistan batters with the highest T20I scores in New Zealand. Eventually, he completed his century and became the first Pakistan batter to slam a T20I ton in New Zealand. 

Interestingly, he ended up registering the highest T20I individual score for Pakistan against New Zealand, breaking Babar's record.

Riding on prolific knocks from Haris, Nawaz and captain Agha Salman, Pakistan steamrolled New Zealand by nine wickets in the third T20I of the series. It was a do-or-die clash for Pakistan, as they managed to stay alive in the series with a much-needed victory.
