New Zealand's premier batter Mark Chapman enjoyed stellar success with the bat, as he hammered a blistering knock in the ongoing third T20 International match against Pakistan. Coming at three, Chapman smashed the visiting bowlers to all parts of the ground before Shaheen Afridi got his prized wicket.
Mark Chapman Stuns Pakistan With His Fireworks
Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and opted to field first in the third T20I against New Zealand in Auckland. His decision proved to be a masterstroke, as experienced seamer Shaheen Afridi bagged the crucial wicket of destructive batter Finn Allen, thanks to Haris Rauf's one-handed grab.
However, Chapman continued his onslaught over the Men in Green, leaving them shell-shocked with his power-hitting. However, the swashbuckling southpaw couldn't complete his century, which would've made him the first-ever batter to slam two T20I tons against Pakistan.
The incident occurred in the 13th over when Chapman was batting alongside Mitchell Hay following Daryl Mitchell's dismissal. After conceding a boundary, Shaheen, who earlier dismissed Allen, made a remarkable comeback, deceiving Chapman with a beautiful slow ball.
The batter miscued the shot, as Shadab Khan took a simple catch, putting an end to his stay in the middle.
NZ Lose 7 Wickets Inside 15 Overs
After Chapman's dismissal, New Zealand lost the crucial wickets of Hay and Kyle Jamieson on consecutive deliveries. As of writing, New Zealand were 168 for seven, with Michael Bracewell and Ish Sodhi batting on 18* and 0*, respectively.
