Harry Brook is a special talent and the England batter once again proved his worth in red-ball format with a stunning counter-attacking century against India in the Edgbaston Test match on Friday. When Brook came out to bat, England had lost 3 quick wickets as the side needed someone to rebuild the innings.

With half the side back in the hut, India had the upper hand before Brook played a calm and composed innings and scored his 9th Test century and first against India.

Brook attains special feat to overtake Smith, Root

With this century, the England batter attained a special feat in Test cricket and overtook his teammate, Joe Root and Aussie batter, Steve Smith in a special hundred milestone. 

Brook made his Test debut in 2022 and since then, no other batter has scored more red-ball centuries apart from him and Kane Williamson. The duo now have 9 Test tons, and they are closely followed by Joe Root and Steve Smith, who have 8 hundreds to their name.

He made his Test debut against South Africa in 2022 and since then, the Yorkshire batter has played 27 Test matches and has racked up 2551 runs with 9 centuries under his belt, the joint-most in the last four years.
