Harmanpreet Kaur leathered Delhi Capitals bowlers to lead Mumbai Indians recovery in match number two of the WPL 2025 season. Batting at number four and arriving to the crease in just the fifth over of the match, Kaur clattered four boundaries and three sixes in her 22-ball 42, and took a special liking to Delhi Capitals’ Australian pacer Annabel Sutherland.
Harmanpreet’s fiery middle-order cameo elevated the Mumbai Indians past the 100-run mark within just the first 11 overs of the innings despite losing two early wickets in the match.

Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur bludgeoned 42 runs off just 22 balls with four boundaries and three huge sixes to lift her team from a precarious 32-2 till 105-2 in 10.5 overs. The senior Indian batter smeared 18 of those runs in the space of just four balls against Delhi Capitals fast bowler Annabel Sutherland in the 11th over of the innings.
Launching Sutherland for three boundaries and a six in succession, Harmanpreet Kaur eventually had her well-set stay curtailed by the Australian speedster next-up to bring an end to a sizzling 73-run third wicket partnership for the Mumbai Indians.
Harmanpreet Kaur unleashed first signs of her aggressive intent during the eighth over of the innings against Radha Yadav. After slashing Yadav for a scintillating boundary off a no-ball, Kaur made the most of the free-hit by dispatching the ball over the long-off boundary.
Earlier in the match, Mumbai Indians had lost both openers, including prolific batter Hayley Matthews, to Delhi Capitals speedster Shikha Pandey. Following the end of the 73-run partnership between Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt, no other Mumbai Indians batter managed to record more than 10 runs in the innings.
