RCB bowlers dominate early as UP Warriorz collapse to 50/5
UP Warriorz were put in to bat and found it tough early on. RCB’s bowlers made full use of the new ball, with Lauren Bell swinging it nicely and Linsey Smith keeping things tight. The openers never looked settled and both were dismissed without making much impact.
Phoebe Litchfield tried to lift the tempo and looked confident from the start, carrying her good form from the last game. Just when she seemed set to take off, Shreyanka Patil struck with a timely breakthrough. Riding on that momentum, RCB grabbed two more quick wickets, and suddenly UP Warriorz were 50 for five.
Dottin–Deepti partnership rescues UP Warriorz after early collapse
With pressure mounting, Deandra Dottin and Deepti Sharma showed calm heads. They took their time, rebuilt the innings, and then attacked late as RCB lost focus. Making the most of what looked like a great surface to bat on, the pair added an unbeaten 93, pushing UP Warriorz to a fighting 143 in 20 overs.
With the ball, RCB enjoyed a strong first half as Lauren Bell led the attack with an excellent, economical 1/16 that kept UP Warriorz under pressure. Nadine de Klerk backed her up with another impressive outing, finishing with 2 for 28, while Shreyanka Patil claimed two crucial wickets despite conceding a few runs.
Grace Harris headlines RCB’s dominant run chase with blazing 85
Chasing 144, RCB left no stone unturned as Grace Harris came out all guns blazing, leaving UP Warriorz clueless. Unfazed by the new ball, RCB raced to 78 without loss in the powerplay, the third-highest WPL powerplay score, with Harris smashing 55 off just 24 balls.
The openers brought up 100 in just 7.5 overs, setting a benchmark for power-hitting. While Smriti Mandhana played the perfect anchor role with an unbeaten 47, Grace Harris produced a batting masterclass with 85 off 40 as RCB cruised home with ease. After a dramatic win in the season opener, RCB now make it two wins in a row, underlining a perfect start to their campaign.
