India stars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli made successful returns to the Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament with quickfire blitzes for their respective teams, Mumbai and Delhi.
Carrying forward their form from the South Africa ODIs, both Rohit and Kohli registered centuries, albeit in different matches.
Rohit Sharma lit up Jaipur while playing against Sikkim, whereas Delhi was electrified by Virat Kohli’s presence and his gallant century during the chase of a 299-run target from Andhra inside 50 overs.
Rohit Sharma hammered 155 runs in his outing, while Virat Kohli continued to smash the ball to all parts of the ground as Delhi chased the target. Kohli was also eventually dismissed for 131 runs off 101 balls.
Both players featured in their natural positions, with Rohit opening the innings alongside Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Kohli coming in at number three, sharing the crease with Nitish Rana.
Internet floods with Rohit-Kohli praise after VHT comeback
As things stand, the two stars appear to be ageing backwards, showing no signs of slowing down as they approach their 40s. Unsurprisingly, netizens were delighted and flooded social media with praise for the iconic Ro-Ko duo.
Let’s take a look at how the internet reacted to the iconic duo’s VHT comeback:
"Hundred for Virat Kohli & Hundred for Rohit Sharma in VHT. I don't think anyone can stop them in 50 over format." - @cricbhawana

"We all love Hitman and every true cricket fan feels happy when Rohit does something special. But it’s sad that many Rohit fan pages try to push their love by hating Kohli. They don’t look at conditions, pitch, or match situation. They troll him when he scores a hundred and they troll him when he gets out for zero. That’s not fandom, that’s insecurity. Great players don’t need comparisons, and legends don’t need hate to shine." - @swaptoro14
"Rohit scored 155* and Virat is playing at 62, Gautam Gambhir crying in the corner" - @saga__r

"Imagine being Sikkim and Andhra bowlers, why am I getting belt treatment from Rohit and Kohli during Christmas for no reason" - @bent_copper
"Not a coronation. Just confirmation. 58 centuries, 16,000 runs and counting for Virat Prem Kohli in List A Cricket." - @RCBTweets

"mere vitamin ki goli mera kohli" - @Chasemaster_VK
"VIRAT KOHLI HAS 3 HUNDREDS AND 2 FIFTIES IN THE LAST 5 LIST A MATCHES. King is suffering from success fever" - @Starcyyyy
With India set up for the New Zealand ODIs in January 2026, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s forms only speak of dominance that is about to come in the upcoming matches.
