Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed once again struck with the new ball, this time by getting rid of Delhi Capitals opener Jake Fraser-McGurk for a five-ball duck in match number 17 of the IPL 2025 season. Turning up for his team at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Ahmed’s fuller delivery prompted the Australia-based opener to try and clear mid-on, only to find the safe hands of Ravichandran Ashwin.

Through the course of his latest new ball blitz, the CSK speedster has now taken wickets off the first over of an innings three times this IPL 2025.

Khaleel Ahmed picks up another first-over wicket

Khaleel Ahmed has been shouldering the responsibility of opening the bowling for CSK this IPL 2025 season. In his four games so far, the cricketer has picked up a wicket in his first over of the innings on three separate occasions.

Ahmed started off his exceptional new ball trend in IPL 2025 with the huge wicket of Mumbai Indians opener Rohit Sharma in the opening weekend of the season. While he failed to disrupt RCB openers next-up, the 27-year-old fast bowler has now taken first-over wickets in succession against Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals. Here is a full list of Khaleel Ahmed’s first-over victims so far this IPL 2025.

By the time of the first strategic time out, the Capitals reached a competitive 76-2 at the end of nine overs.
