Young Delhi Capitals' batter Jake Fraser-McGurk sustained his disastrous run in the IPL 2025 season, as he departed for a five-ball duck in the ongoing game against Chennai Super Kings. Opening the batting for DC, Fraser-McGurk failed to open his account, with Khaleel Ahmed getting his prized scalp.

JFM's RTM Backfired On DC?

Notably, Jake Fraser-McGurk was one of the high-profile names when he entered the mega auction pool last year. The bidding war initially began between the Capitals and Punjab Kings, as both teams raised the paddle to secure Fraser-McGurk's services.

Once DC left out, Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) got engaged in an auction battle with the Kings, with the price tag eventually breaching the 5Cr-mark.

PBKS finally won the battle, as their Ricky Ponting-led think tank purchased Fraser-McGurk for INR 5.5 Crores. However, the Capitals used their Right To Match (RTM) card, reclaiming the Australian batter for a whopping price of 9 Crores.

However, Fraser-McGurk's performance has been nothing short of shambolic in the IPL this season. The batter managed a solitary run against LSG before scoring a sloth-paced 32-ball 38 against SRH. His failure against CSK has raised questions over his place in the XI, with several promising talents awaiting to replace him in the team.

DC Get A Steady Start To Their Innings vs CSK

Despite losing Fraser-McGurk early, DC managed to get a steady start to their innings, with KL Rahul and Abhishek Porel forming a consolidating stand. As of writing, DC were 47 for one, with Rahul and Porel batting on 17* and 30*, respectively.
