The general trend continues for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) when they took the field against Mumbai Indians (MI) as veteran batter Ambati Rayudu has been drafted in the eleven, in place of Sri Lankan off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana for the remaining part of the game.

The substitution was made after 16 overs were completed in the first innings of the game as MI's score was 106 for four wickets down. Meanwhile, Theekshana bowled four overs in the game for 28 runs without any scalp.

However, the damage was done early on in the powerplay when Mumbai lost three of their prime batters Cameron Green, Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma through the hands of pace bowling of Tushar Deshpande and Deepak Chahar.

But they somehow managed to recover with the likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Nehal Wadhera stitching a 56-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Wadhera in particular was outstanding with his 64 from 51 balls hitting eight fours and a six.

In the end, they could only manage 139 on the board as Matheesha Pathirana recorded figures of 3 for 15 in four overs.
