Table-toppers Gujarat Titans (GT) will take on the Lucknow Super Kings (LSG) on Sunday in a reverse encounter in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) at their fortress Ahmedabad. Mohit Sharma's final-over heroics helped the Hardik Pandya-led side clutch victory from the jaws of defeat, the last time these two relatively new franchises met in Lucknow on April 22.

Titans, who are sitting comfortably on top of the IPL 2023 points table with seven wins and three losses, will be eager to put one foot in the playoffs with a win here, while Giants would want to avenge their defeat and come in touching distance of their opponents.

Let's have a look into what playing XI both GT and LSG could field against each other tomorrow at Narendra Modi Stadium.

Gujarat Titans (GT)

Openers

Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha

Both Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha have been amongst the runs for GT this season, having made 375 and 192 runs, respectively. However, in the last few matches, both players have failed to make good use of their starts, and been guilty of throwing their wickets away.

Middle-order

Hardik Pandya, David Miller, Abhinav Manohar, and Rahul Tewatia

With Pandya coming back into form, GT undoubtedly has one of the most explosive middle-order. The addition of Manohar has strengthened Titans even more. Against LSG, these power hitters will be tested by the likes of Ravi Bishnoi and Krunal Pandya, who have been stand-out performers for their side.

Bowlers

Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Mohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami, and Alzarri Joseph

An all-rounder bowling attack, Titans showed their prowess against Rajasthan Royals, where Khan and Ahmad bamboozled their opposition batters. In Shami, they unarguably have one of the finest new-ball bowlers.

With Joshua Little going back for Ireland duties, Alzarri Joseph will most likely come into the XI as a like-for-like replacement.

Predicted Playing XI of Gujarat Titans:

Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Abhinav Manohar, Hardik Pandya (c), David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Mohammed Shami, Mohit Sharma, and Alzarri Joseph

Impact players

Vijay Shankar, Sai Sudharsan, Srikar Bharat, Shivam Mavi, and Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

Openers

Karun Nair and Kyle Mayers

With KL Rahul ruled out, Nair has a perfect chance to showcase his talent. The triple-centurion in Test, Nair will be partnered with Kyle Mayers, who is having a stellar season for LSG. Mayers will like the pace on offer at Ahmedabad and would want to make amends for his last few poor outings.

Middle-order

Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Marcus Stoinis, Ayush Badoni, and Nicholas Pooran

An all-rounder heavy middle-order, LSG will want the likes of Stoinis and Pooran to return to their striking best. Stand-in skipper Pandya would want to stand up with the bat as well, with youngest Badoni firing all cylinders.

With Rahul gone, LSG will want to make good use of Hooda's experience, who has so far blown cold.

Bowlers

Amit Mishra, Naveel-ul-Haq, Ravi Bishnoi, and Mohsin Khan

LSG with the likes of Mishra, Bishnoi, and Pandya look to spin a web against an explosive line-up, that has been found to be susceptible against spinners. Mohsin, who is yet to bowl a ball so far, will look to rekindle his form from IPL 2022, which propelled him into the limelight.

Haq will be eager to perform well on the field and let go of all the chatter around him, about his spat with Kohli.

Predicted Playing XI of Lucknow Super Giants:

Kyle Mayers, Karun Nair, Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Krunal Pandya (c), Amit Mishra, Naveen-ul-Haq, Ravi Bishnoi, and Mohsin Khan

Impact Players

Quinton de Kock, Karan Sharma, Daniel Sams, Yash Thakur,  Krishnappa Gowtham.
