Rinku Singh roared back into form with a scintillating century in match number nine of the UP T20 2025 season. After undergoing a lean patch with the bat in competitive cricket, Rinku bludgeoned 108* runs off just 48 balls against Gorakhpur Lions bowlers at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

The cricketer launched seven boundaries and eight huge sixes in his innings, and blazed Meerut Mavericks to a comprehensive six-wicket win in the process.

Rinku Singh Smacks Statement Century Before Asia Cup

Much questions were raised over Rinku Singh’s selection in India’s Asia Cup 2025 squad owing to his sustained lean patch with the bat. After failing to go big in India’s home T20I series against England earlier this year, Rinku also underwent an underwhelming IPL 2025 season for the KKR franchise. Moreover, the blistering left-hander started off his UP T20 League 2025 campaign for Meerut Mavericks with a couple of failures.

However, Rinku Singh justified his Asia Cup 2025 selection by whacking a match-winning century against Gorakhpur Lions on Thursday, August 21 in match nine of the tournament. Batting at number five and arriving to the crease inside the powerplay itself at 31-3 in a tall chase of 168, the 27-year-old clattered 108* runs off 48 balls during his unbroken 130-run partnership with Sahab Yuvraj Singh (22* off 22).

Meerut Mavericks Mow Down Gorakhpur Lions

Rinku Singh’s batting blitz also helped Meerut Mavericks mow down Gorakhpur Lions’ 167-run total with six wickets and seven balls to spare.

With his latest century, Rinku Singh has now tallied 131 runs in three innings of the UP T20 2025 League at a staggering strike rate of 195.52.

During the concluding stages of the ongoing season, the hard-hitting radical will be expected to link up with the Indian team in the UAE for the upcoming 2025 T20 Men’s Asia Cup.
